Note:- The National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy™ has meaningful external accreditation, notably with the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education. The British Accreditation Council is an independent specialist accrediting agency (as opposed to what might be described as a trade association). The Council's Inspection Summary is available on our accreditation page, and its full Institutional Report is available upon request. Such reports, their comprehensiveness and credibility as independent assessments, can offer a useful aid when determining with whom to train. The National College courses attract substantial Open University-specific credit rating and demonstrable access to other areas of reputable higher education.
Additional Note: Some enquirers have asked why the National College is not affiliated with certain "Hypnotherapy Organisations". It is our policy that we will only align ourselves with organisations which have meaningful and verifiable means of accreditation. The profession has many organisations which will give you a certificate for a fee. We, as one of the oldest schools of professional hypnosis and psychotherapy, believe that we should take a leadership position with this and not support bodies which have only been created to give out meaningless credentials and to turn a profit for its owners.

Statutory Regulation of Psychotherapists
In February 2007 the Government introduced a white paper which includes, amongst other things, proposals for all psychotherapists to be regulated by statute. The National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy is committed to high standards within the profession and its response to the white paper can be found by clicking here.
Note to potential students wishing to become Hypno-Psychotherapists: Whilst the term Hypno-Psychotherapist and Hypno-Psychotherapy are currently not protected by statute, with events in the UK moving towards eventual statutory regulation of Psychotherapy, one should ensure that the training you undertake is accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy, the European Association for Hypno-Psychotherapy and/or the European Association for Psychotherapy. These organisations are involved with the implementation of the regulation of the psychotherapy profession in both the UK and Europe.
